4 Ways to East Better Throughout the Week

It’s no secret America has an obesity problem. Millions of Americans are pulling through the drive-thru for at least one meal a day. I am at fault for this, as well. Thankfully, I have settled down on the amount of eating out I do. I still consume my fair share of fast food, however.
If you are like a lot of people, you find yourself searching for easy ways to eat better, spend less and feel better throughout the day and week. I am a big believer it begins at the grocery store because buying food at the store is always cheaper than buying it at a restaurant. This theory proves me right every time I try to prove it wrong.
Go to the Grocery Store:
If you are at all like me then you must take care of the most expensive bills first before you spend money on anything else otherwise those expenses will not get paid. If you can relate, I strongly urge you to push yourself to put that Walmart trip to the top of the to-do list on payday. There aren’t many people who enjoy the grocery store, including myself. If you don’t put a lot of thought into the downfalls of the errand, once you’re done, it won’t seem too bad and you will be relieved that you have gotten that part of the week out of the way.
Go to the Grocery Store 2.0:
Yes, going to your local market takes looking ahead as far as meals go. You must know what you will be hungry for. The ways I overcome this struggle is by thinking about what sounds good or by thinking of what I don't want to eat. Sometimes it even takes thinking about what I enjoyed eating when I was younger. That might be simple spaghetti and meatballs, or sausage/cabbage/potatoes, or chicken/macaroni and cheese/a vegetable – brainstorming meals like this always helps me come up with a satisfying dinner with more nutrients than a Taco Bell dinner.
Grab a Few Snacks:
If I find myself bored at home on the weekend or even during week nights doing homework, I will look for snacks to eat. Well, if you don’t plan for snack-filled moments, you might find yourself making an unnecessary trip to your local CVS spending an unnecessary fifteen dollars. If you accept that you are a person who likes to snack, you might have the ability to think of a healthier approach to that habit. You may want to grab ingredients to make tuna and crackers to eat along with your tuna or grab a bag of grapes and string cheese. Maybe you enjoy a saltier approach, there are always variety packs available and slightly healthier approaches to chips – such as veggie straws or baked potato chips.
Pinterest:
I have found in some people that the popularity of Pinterest has decreased, and people have stopped looking to that app to find meal inspiration. Believe it or not, Pinterest has some decent ideas and they break up options on how to eat food. If you are looking just for snacks, you can do that. If you are looking just for an appetizer, go for it. If you want casserole ideas, they are available. Whatever you are thinking, Pinterest has it. Nine times out of 10, the ingredients are listed with just a few clicks on the item.
Sometimes not thinking so hard about these things makes it a little easier, too. If you focus on another topic for a little while, you will notice meal ideas come to you.
