Let's Make a Deal

Happy Half-Priced Chocolate Day! Either you lived your best life in love yesterday or you were just chillin' looking at your social media feed of everyone in love.
Aside from all of that business, let's talk Washington.
What a whirlwind of a news week this was. For me, it was strangely quiet for a few days that were threatened by another government shutdown. However, once I started looking into what was going on, there was plenty happening.
In my opinion, it was quiet because there's a lot out there that the mainstream media doesn't necessarily want to talk about. Yes, even Fox News because they want to discuss rhetoric by Senators and Representatives and what the latest moves are by the almost-three-year-long investigation.
American patriots, like me and you, want to know the real stuff happening. That's why I do my best to read between the lines and dig deeper.
Of course everyone is still having a field day over New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal. Conservative media is trying to break it down and genuinely understand by having those who co-wrote it on their show to debate and discuss.
For example: Fox News's, "Tucker Carlson Tonight," had Ocasio-Cortez adviser, Robert Hockett, on his show to debate and understand. Carlson asked questions and Hockett had to defend everything because none of it made sense.
That was a week ago.
Now, unless you're over the news, politics, political rhetoric, or just don't care anymore, then you know the House and the Senate have not only come up with a national security bill, but both chambers have signed it and now President Trump signs it Friday morning.
First I'll explain why this is a big deal. Then I'll give a little insight into what the bill actually says and - shocker - my opinion on what will happen based on the content of the bill.
This is a big deal for a number of reasons - President Trump has been very clear on what he wants. Give him a bill that gives the correct amount for the border wall and puts Americans' safety first. The House hasn't been able to do that until now. Another reason this is a big deal - Trump never backed down. This is what he campaigned on, America has had this fight for 40+ years and we're finally able to talk about it.
I'll pinpoint a few parts of the bill because it's a 30-page document.
- The bill provides$1.375 billion, $4.325 less than the $5.7 billion (less than 0.1 percent of the budget) the Trump administration requested, for approximately 55 miles of physical barrier along the southern border in the Rio Grande valley of Texas.
- Provides funding for 7,650 IS Secret Service personnel, the highest level in decades.
- Improves transparency by requiring ICE to make public information about the numbers and types of people in its custody like families, border apprehension detainees, interior enforcement detainees, and those who are in custody who have a positive credible fear claim.

Although it's exciting we have a game plan, the president still has to sign it and possibly call a national emergency. I'm not sure he's going to sign it solely based on the fact that he doesn't have every penny he's requested for the wall. I don't think that part is negotiable.... There are also a lot of rules in the bill as to where the wall "can't go" according to Congress. There's too much of what we can't do.
We'll see what happens and you can follow updates right here on Monday!
