The mornings for me are sort of the thermometer for the how the day will shape up. If I wake up on time and take care of business, then most of the time, everything works out. For the mornings I am behind schedule and unorganized, it’s up to me and my attitude on whether the outcome of the day. Below are a few easy ways to improve the morning.

Clean the kitchen and Make your Coffee:

I have been raised to put away dinner, load the dishes, spray off the counters and set up the coffee for the next day. This is something that took 10 minutes and felt so good once it was done. Setting up the coffee is as simple as filling the water to your desired cup amount, putting a liner in the filter and putting those coffee grains in the filter. All you must do the next morning is turn it on. By the time you’re out of the shower, you have a fresh pot of coffee to sip on before school and work.

Pack up your Bags and Set Out Your Clothes:

I absolutely must put all necessary materials in my backpack before I hit the hay. Even though I have a tired mind, I still remember just about everything most nights down to packing a water bottle. This is important because the nights I don’t pack my backpack are usually the mornings I end up running late the next day. For the outfit on the next day, you can either hang your shirt and pants on the door or at least have an idea of what you want to wear. This is also a good time to check the weather if you aren’t going to set your clothes out. You don’t want to not check the weather or set out your clothes and wear inappropriate clothing.

Do Not Disturb:

I didn’t always put my phone on do not disturb until for some reason one night I decided to. It has been a mild game changer for me. I am a deep sleeper and sometimes I wake up to notifications in the middle of the night, which ruins my sleep. Do not disturb is a quick and easy way to avoid being woken up out of a deep sleep.

Set an Alarm:

I believe this goes without saying because I don’t know many working-class people who are able to wake up between five and seven in the morning without an alarm. Studies have shown we shouldn’t set our alarms in 30-minute increments, but I must do it that way or I won’t hear my alarm. So, do what you need to do and set your alarms however you will wake up to them.

Hopefully these tips will help your day start on the right foot and give you a better outlook on your day.
