Kindness

I think with all the political activity and madness going on in this country, we forget to pass a little grace and kindness to the people next to us.
It's OK to have a bad day. It's OK to distance yourself from people to get your priorities straight. However, it's not OK to be mean for no reason. Everyone is always fighting a battle - especially the people closest to you who may never tell you.
Paying someone a compliment or just giving them and smile and saying hi can literally turn their day around. It can result in genuine gratitude and possibly a little faith in humanity to be nice again.
Anger and insecurity can sometimes blind us from the way we treat each other and a lot of the time we may not even mean to be hateful. Our words, tone and delivery can ruin an entire conversation. It's very important to think about the way our words sound coming out of our mouths.
You can argue all day long about whose "fault" it is for so much anger in society, but at the end of the day, we are responsible for our actions. Not our parents, not our roommates, not our professors or bosses, not our friends, not the President of the United States of America. It is our responsibility to make sure we pass kindness along even when we may not feel like it.
Just a friendly reminder to share a smile or say hi to a stranger.
