Regardless of our age, geographic location or field of interest, everyone who graduates from high school or college doesn't think they are qualified for the job they are seeking at some point.

If they are in college, this thought may be out of genuine fear and anxiety. Maybe they are trying to finish the last set of college courses and are forced to stay in their college town because those classes are only available on campus. Maybe they are unable to find an actual hiring job.

Below are a couple of ways to overcome this obstacle of being qualified.

Legitimate experience:

Nothing replaces doing the work. If a student has just spent the last several years in college learning, studying, growing and getting physical hands-on experience, this is a good start. Students can talk themselves up all day long, but there needs to be something shown for the tens of thousands of dollars spent on tuition.

Mindset:

If a student is stuck in a rut, that's fine because it happens. Everyone gets stuck in ruts. There is a way to change this, however. I have always believed our mindset can make or break us. If someone is feeling low and down on their luck, it's easy to be pessimistic and sometimes it's hard to see the brighter side. If someone is having a great day with a positive mindset, the world is their oyster. Two opposite ends of the spectrum. If the outside world has that much power over our thoughts and mindset, we're in trouble. Mind over matter.

Contacts & a network:

The longer I'm in a college (and it has been a long time), the more I learn how important it is to not only meet people, but to keep in contact, make a friendship out of it and be there for people. Be an ear to listen to, be available to hang out to get to know each other. If nothing else, they might be able to help you get a job later.

Pity Party:

I enjoy going to parties, but not pity parties. One of the worse things people can do is sit around and feel sorry for themselves when a job, an assignment, or any other type of situation doesn't go well or their way. This kind of goes along with a healthy mindset mentioned above. No one wants to be around anyone feeling sorry for themselves. People want to be around others who get knocked down and pick themselves back up and didn't quit.

Hopefully these tips help the next time you're in a rut and need a little motivation to get out of it.
