Memorial Day

Hopefully you already knew this, but in case you didn't, Memorial Day weekend is coming up. As I'm sure you can case, I have a few ideas in mind on how to celebrate!
Some people get confused on the different patriotic holidays. Memorial Day is actually Tuesday May 28, but a lot of people use the weekend prior to celebrate. This is the holiday where we remember the fallen and, of course, celebrate those in uniform still with us.
Veterans Day is November 11 and that is the holiday where we celebrate those who have served in the passed and those who are retired that are still with us.
Obviously the 4th of July is to celebrate the freedom of this beautiful country.
With that said, below are a few ideas to help kick off Memorial Day weekend!
Barbecue:
Barbecuing is probably the most popular way average Americans celebrate this weekend. Families love an excuse to sit outside by the grill and whip up some steaks, hot dogs and/or hamburgers with possibly a few cold adult beverages.
Baseball games:
Baseball is America's favorite past time. So, what better way to spend the first patriotic weekend of the year doing what America loves! Especially since a hot dog and adult beverages go hand-in-hand with baseball!
Visiting the fallen:
This one is a little bit heavier, but visiting the fallen is a sobering and honest way to really understand the meaning behind why we celebrate and what it really means to serve this beautiful country. Even if you aren't close to a military grave, visiting a family member's grave site who served does just as good and is probably better because they are your family.
These are just a few, but if you have something better in mind, feel free to keep those plans!
