Big Week Ahead

A lot of events planned this week in the country and in the world.

In politics, it may be the biggest political and historical move in our time. We thought so when Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch was appointed because not only was he conservative, but he was appointed to the court and that doesn't happen a lot.

This time, this Supreme Court Justice is a big deal because judges are not appointed very often and President Trump has the opportunity to appoint a woman. He has the opportunity to appoint a conservative, pro-life Mother.

He very well could not do that, which would not be the end of the world because regardless of the Justice's personal responsibilities or views of the world - their votes must remain constitutional.

As of Sunday night, President Trump has come "very close" to narrowing down his pick to just one, but he "has not chosen who yet."

The second event on the calendar this week is the NATO Summit. A lot of foreign leaders will be there such as Vladamir Putin who is expected to meet with President Trump privately.

According to Gillian Turner, the event is "intended to bolster the trans-atlantic alliance and under score the common defense interests of the 29-member countries," she said. The administration's message going into the event to the American people is to "focus on cost sharing."

In world news, the United States and others around the globe are praying and sending good thoughts to the soccer team who is trapped in a cave in Thailand. Last week, a Thai Navy SEAL attempted to save the soccer team, but could not complete the mission because there was not enough oxygen. He unfortunately passed away while trying to save the team. Officials say it could take up to four days for the team to be rescued.

For sports, the World Cup will begin again on Tuesday with France and Belgium beginning their match at 1:00p.m. at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Saint Petersburg. On Wednesday at 1:00p.m. Croatia (who beat Russia on Saturday) will play England in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
