Happy Friday! Congratulations, we have all made it to the end of the week!

Let's take a look at what took over most of the headlines this week. It is complicated and a mess, but interesting to take a look at. Or spend hours reading articles - whichever you prefer.

In case you missed it, countries around the world came together for NATO, which stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The countries involved range from Spain and Portugal, to Bulgaria and Slovakia, to Netherlands and Norway up to Estonia - of course including Canada and the United States.

NATO cover a lot. According to nato.int, it's a political and military alliance. "NATO promotes democratic values and enables members to consult and cooperate on defense and security-related issues to solve problems, build trust and, in the long run, prevent conflict." That is a direct quote from the website over the political side of NATO.

Then there is a military side of the organization: "If diplomatic efforts fail, it has the military power to undertake crisis-management operations. These are carried out under the collective defense clause of NATO's founding treaty - Article 5 of the Washington Treaty or under a United Nations mandate, alone or in cooperation with other countries and international organisations." This is a direct quote from the website.

Obviously there is a lot of history behind NATO because it has been around since the Cold War. More in-depth information can be found on the website.

The reason we are hearing drama from the two-day meeting is because there is a lot of drama surrounding NATO. Long story short, the President called for other countries to begin paying their dues.

Take a look at this week's mid-week motivation.
