Welcome to Monday. The World Cup ended on Sunday. France beat Croatia 4-2 in Moscow, Russia, giving France not only their second World Cup ever, but their first World Cup in 20 years.
The beautiful thing about the World Cup is that there isn't much controversy surrounding the competition. We live in a society where people are going to find something controversial about it, though. The competition involves the world, hence the name - World Cup. Super cool and great, right? The world involves everyone with literally every walk of life - also awesome.
I am seeing, however, that Twitter users, specifically are making political statements about all the immigration within different countries and their backgrounds.
I want to help make one thing clear - there is absolutely nothing wrong with immigration. Going to a different country with a dream of giving your family a better life is amazing. Go forth on your way.
The part where the dream gets a little tricky, complicated and almost always ugly is when you plan on going to any different country under the following circumstances:
- illegally
- on the country's dime
- without a plan to get settled on your own at all
So, yes, in America, there is issue when you are seeking asylum and this really shouldn't be a partisan issue. The reason it shouldn't be a partisan issue is because the side of the fence who you think is for open borders are really for more votes, and those votes are coming from illegal immigration.
Happy legal migrating and happy closed borders.
Stay tuned on Wednesday for a re-cap of the meeting between President Trump and Vladamir Putin!
Until then, take a look at NATO.
