A Week of Dumb

A couple of cool things about today, but only a couple because there is a lot of uncool things about this week.
The first cool thing is that it's already Wednesday, which means regardless of how you've made it this far - coffee, energy drinks, your favorite snack or looking toward watching your favorite show - you have made it!
The second cool thing is that today is August 1! The first day of a new month. The first day to reach new successes!
Now onto the uncool things. Somehow, the news cycles this week have been random, unimportant and ignorant. I'll start with straws. I apologize in advance because the one straw you choose not to use for your sweet tea with your Chick-Fil-A lunch won't decrease the amount of trash in the ocean. Maybe over time, but not by the end of the day. I'm all for conserving our Earth we only have one, but whoever decided straws were the answer on conservation, has gone too far.
Secondly, and probably the dumbest "news" so far is printing 3-D guns. I won't go too far into this because it's so ridiculous.
Third, if you are keeping up with the mid-terms elections, who is running and what they are saying then you have probably heard of Miss Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This lady is impressive in one way and one way only (in my opinion): she's managed to grab a ticket on the congressinal ballot at age 28 against people who are much older and have been in the political game much longer.
The countless ways she is not impressive is first and foremost - she's a socialist. If we have learned *anything* it's that socialism is the wrong way to run a government. Let us look at the beautiful example of Bernie Sanders who ran against Presidential-candidate Donald Trump on socialism. It doesn't work, it only makes people poorer and it just doesn't make sense. For Cortez to think so, makes her generation look bad.
Another way she is unimpressive, and I will blame this on her because she started there, is that her district is in the Bronx but no one who is voting for her in that district knows how bad socialism is. That was obviously her goal and I understand how liberal the Bronx can be, but let's get a little bit educated if we are planning on participating in an election.
Now that we have some of the dumb stuff out of the way for this week, make today a good one and try not to let any of this ruin your week!
