Confirmation & Confrontation

Happy Monday! What a weekend.
Since JSM has had several lengthy, news-filled posts lately, this post will be short and sweet!
The big day was Saturday when the Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed with 50 ayes and 48 nays.
Susan Collins (R-ME), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), and Joe Manchin (D-WV) were the deciding votes who all voted aye to confirm Kavanaugh.
His first day will be tomorrow (Tuesday) since today is Columbus Day.
In other, slightly less intensely political news, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to explain why she will be voting for Democrat Phil Bredesen - Marsha Blackburn's opponent - in November's midterms.
Swift is known to be unusually politically silent when it comes to politics, which is something her fans know and have come to appreciate.
It seems as though some of her fans understand and appreciate her honesty.
As I said, today's post would be short since the last couple weeks have been pretty long.
Try to complete a goal for yourself today, this week, or this month. Aim to finish out 2018 strong!
