This weekend was filled with mostly downs. Let's get ready to go through them.
Friday: Bomb-packages in the mail
The man behind the bomb-packages sent in the mail to two former Presidents, senators, and various other high-profile political figures across the country has been captured. His name is Cesar Sayoc from Florida. According to several news outlets including Fox News, he is "charged with five federal charges and up to 58 years in prison."
Saturday: Pittsburgh
On Saturday morning, The Tree of Life Synagogue experienced a horrific shooting killing 11 people during a service. According to the AP, "federal prosecutors charged suspected gunman in Pittsburgh synagogue shooting with 29 counts in deaths of 11 people."
Sunday: Soccer, World Series, and missing flights
The Associated Press reports that "English soccer club Leicester City says owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha among five people who died in helicopter crash." As well as confirming that "Brazil's top electoral court announces that far-right congressman Jair Bolsonaro wins the presidency."
Later in the night the AP says, "U.S. Attorney in Pittsburgh say he's seeking approval for the death penalty against shooting suspect Robert Bowers."
Boston Red Sox win their fourth World Series in 15 season following an 86-year championship drought.
Unfortunately we must close out Sunday's post confirming "Indonesia disaster agency says Lion Air flight crashed into sea carrying 188 passengers and crew on board," according to the AP. There has been a "massive rescue mission underway for this flight, according to Fox News.
It's important to know about what's going on around the world. It's not to get down about it. Control what you can, let go of what you can't. Drink your coffee, call your mom, and put your best foot forward.
