December Decisions

Welcome back to Jon Street Media. It's another long post today! We're going to cover a lot.

I'm sure I'm not alone in this - I'm somewhere between "It's finally a new month" and "omg, it's already December - the TWELFTH month - the year is almost over!"

So, naturally, a mess about it. Anyway, let's get to business. I'll give you a quick summary of the three things we're going to cover today:

- Goals/Decisions: A new month, which means new goals, new accomplishments, new experiences, and a fresh start.

- A little pop culture/football update: who has made it to the college football playoffs, who just retired and did her last cat walk, and why a certain show that aired tonight was bittersweet and sentimental.

- Lovely politics: It was a sad weekend for Americans. We'll discuss why, and what we can expect to unfold this week.

First, goals. Why are goals important, and why do I stress them particularly at the beginning of the month? Goals are important because being our best selves is something we should be constantly working on - in big and small ways.

I stress this in the beginning because not only is the first (or third) of each month a fresh start, but it's a good reminder that if we didn't conquer that one specific goal last month, we have a new month! So, get to it!

This week in pop culture, Sunday night was the Annual Victoria's Secret Fashion show in New York City. Adriana Lima, who is from Brazil and has been a Victoria's Secret Angel for about 20 years is retiring this year. This year's fashion show was her last to walk in. There was a pretty emotional and sentimental segment for her. And she walked her last cat walk.

As far as College Football goes, according to the Associated Press, "poll voters have put Oklahoma at No. 4 in the final regular season top 25, behind No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson, and No. 3 Notre Dame.

Alright - I've saved the saddest for the last. I'm sure you have heard by now, but George Herbert Walker Bush has passed away at age 94. He and former First Lady Barbara Bush were the longest married couple in history at 74 years.

Now, this is pretty big news: According to Fox News, "Senior ISIS leader, Abu al Umarayan, who was involved in killing of former US Army Ranger was killed in a

drone strike in Syria's Badiyah Desert, spokesperson Colonel Sean Ryan said in a statement."

That'll do it for us today, folks! Have a great Monday and I will catch us up on Wednesday!
