The Important Rundowns for the Week

Since this is a blog, I'll try to keep all the breaking stories short. If this were a newspaper, I'd be able to cover two pages with content, but I'll save you the reading.
Before we get to it, there's a lot of political gossip out there being considered "news" that I don't think is important to mention at this time. So, although it seems this post is a little thin, it's because there's a lot of gossip out there that we aren't going to give airtime to.
First, President Trump, Sentor Ted Cruz, and Senator John Cornyn visit McAllen, Texas on Thursday to meet with Border Patrol agents on immigration and border security.
Sean Hannity was down at the border along with the rest of the politicians figuring this business out and interviewing agents, the president, and the two senators. I'll admit, it was pretty cool to see the agents standing behind the president during his interview with Hannity. I know it's their job to obey orders from the boss, and while they were professional about their business, and probably just said so for the sake of TV, they agreed with the orders.
Although I'm aware that this wall conversation has not only gone on for 40 years, there are parts of the conversation that have also become a very political game.
My heart breaks for the families who have lost loved ones by illegal immigrants - addressing that issue isn't what's political, in my opinion. There's a real crisis that must be fixed.
What's political - and frankly, embarrassing - is the back and forth in the media between Democrat and Republican lawmakers of the president.
Next on the line-up of stories is an update on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's unannounced trip to Egypt. According to a Fox News opinion piece, "Pompeo's speech was a fundamental turning point for US Foreign Policy."
Here's why: he "declared" in front of his audience and the media that, "The age of self-inflicted American sha me is over."
According to Pompeo, "America is a force for good in the Middle East."
Former NYPD Police Officer, Former Secret Service Officer, and current Fox News contributor, Dan Bongino, explained in his podcast, "The Dan Bongino Show, " how Pompeo stating that America is a force for good in the Middle East was brilliant politically speaking because it will be very difficult for the Democrats to twist those words to make the Trump Administration look bad.
Lots of moving parts in both of these stories. Try not to allow the media to over-complicate it for you.
Until Monday, enjoy your weekend and Go Cowboys!
