Hopefully this week is going your way!
Tuesday was a big news day - one of the biggest of the year.
There is probably a lot of confusion so let's get to a little explanation.
First up, nominee for Attorney General, William Barr, testified before the Senate Committee Tuesday morning. The gist of that hearing is that he supports the border wall, and he will not close down the Russia investigation.
Second important story of the day is that the Congressional democrats boycotted the White House lunch meeting over national security. Again, petty and political, and could have resulted in calm conversation, but that's not the way politics or a political career in the Trump Administration works.
This afternoon, according to Fox News, "former top FBI lawyer James Baker has been subject of criminal leak investigation, new congressional letter reveals." According to the Washington Post, "the development was made public in a letter sent Tuesday to the office of U.S. Attorney General John Durham for the District of Connecticut by Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Mark Meadows of North Carolina."
Last but not least, Brexit. This is a very confusing situation where a lot of research must be done in order to understand, it seems. Here's what I've found out. According to the BBC, "Brexit" is known for 'British Exit' and the word is used when the UK is in discussion to leave the European Union (of EU)."
The whole mess began in 2016 when "a public vote - referendum - was held and voters were asked whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union. The leave side won by nearly 52% to 48%, but the exit didn't happen straight away. It's due to take place March 29, 2019. So far, the 2016 vote was just a start - negotiations have been taking place between the UK and the other EU countries."
The BBC's website lays this entire situation out if you're interested or curious.
Needless to way it's a big week, and there's no telling what news will break over the next couple days.
Hopefully this made sense!
