Happy Friday, friends!
So, Thursday was crazy, politically speaking. News television and social media broke around 2pm CST as soon as the president's letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi became public.
I have a few ideas on why.
The American people - at least the ones I know - are tired of the shady, corrupt talking-head politicians. Before he announced his presidency, Trump said he would only run if the country got so bad he had to.
We may not have exactly known how bad the country was back then, but I think we all have a pretty good idea of who has what kind of ideas and intentions. Most of the
Trump supporters I know really appreciate how blunt and savage he is.
The last few months has been very eye-opening about who makes good decisions in Washington. Sometimes Trump makes poor choices, sometimes those around him make cringe choices.
Part of the beauty of Trump's letter to Pelosi was to show what her plans were and how many resources those plans would require - resources of people who are affected by the shutdown.
If you are unaware of what's going on, Pelosi was on her way - in a military bus - to catch a flight for a trip to Brussels and Afghanistan for a CoDel, or a Congressional Delegation. These are government-paid trips abroad, designed to give lawmakers first-hand knowledge of mattress relevant to their legislation. Although, it doesn't sound like the trip was an emergency and matters could be handled in D.C.
She thought it would be a good idea to escape the issues of the country and take an unnecessary trip to a place that isn't very popular instead of being an adult and handling the matters at has.
I'm not sure about you, but I probably wouldn't have known about this news has it not been for the president posting it on his social media.
In other more important news, four American troops have died in a Syrian ambush.
Identities have not been released in respect to next-of-kin being informed of their loved one's passing first
