We made it! I hope you had a good week!

I've avoided any shutdown discussion because at this point, it's just a conversation for three types of people: those who get paid to talk about the news, social justice warriors on social media, anyone else who has too much time on their hands.... who is probably getting into internet fights.

Everyone else seems to either pay no mind to it, or shake their head in public when passing a TV screen with the news on.

So since it has become one of the biggest political games in modern America, my only question about this shutdown - why don't the 30% of government workers who aren't getting paid quit.... their.... job? Especially if TSA is your job? Everyone knows that job is not all that great.

If I have a family I'm trying to provide for and I have bills that will be due while I am well aware I will not receive a paycheck until *who knows when*, I would find another job real quick.

The government is too big, too corrupt, and too busy worrying about their own crooked agenda to pay any concern about any lives they may be negatively affecting. I would get out of that mess as soon as possible.

Wednesday evening after a couple of letters between President Trump and Nancy Pelosi, Trump decided to cancel the State of the Union address until the government opens up.

As of around 3:00 central time on Thursday, the Senate rejecting a GOP, Democrat bill that could have ended the shutdown.

Also, at around 4:30 central time on Thursday, the White House signaled a "large down payment" on a wall that could possibly end the shutdown.

We will continue watching this news to see what actually happens.
