A CBS Interview & the Super Bowl

Happy Monday, friends! Hopefully you had a good weekend and are ready for a new week!
This passed week was a weird one when it came to news. There wasn't much in the mainstream, but if you started digging, you'd find a lot more. This was the case until the weekend.
Friday came around - which was the first of the month - and the jobs report came out from the Department of Labor. According, to the White House, 300,000 new jobs were made just in January despite the government shutdown.
Sunday ended up being a pretty big news day. President Trump was interviewed on CBS News's, "Face the Nation." The interview was all right. He discussed border, football, the political state, and military.
Talking about the military moves is tricky because that's national security and the whole world watches when any president is interviewed. So, I never understand why the interviewer grills the president on military. However, President Trump explained that we have spent fifty billion dollars A YEAR on the 20-year-old Iraq war.
America was also supposed to be in Syria for four months, but we're still there.
Breaking today - the Pentagon is sending 3,740 troops to the border.
Of course today was also Superbowl Sunday. I was still a little bitter about the way playoffs ended. Being a lifelong Cowboys fan, I wanted them to be there. Being an Austin native, I am always quietly cheering Drew Brees on and his season-ending playoffs loss is still heartbreaking.
Besides the fact that it was one of the most boring games I've ever watched, I was fairly entertained by the commercials. That was the only entertaining part of the entire program because the half time show was just ok, as well. I'm not a fan of Maroon 5, or Adam Levine the celebrity. I like a couple Travis Scott songs, but Big Boi was the best part for me and that part didn't last long enough to me.
Because of the way I am, the best part of the entire show was the pre-game patriotic part. Gladys Knight did a beautiful job with the national anthem, and of course the service members did an excellent job with their instruments and holding the flag.
I'm looking forward to a new week. I hope the first day is off to a good start for you!
